Huawei Y6s with 6-inch HD+ display and MediaTek Helio P35 SoC goes official

Earlier this year, Huawei introduced the Y6 Prime (2019) smartphone in China. Now, the company has added yet another Y-series handset to its portfolio. The brand has launched the Huawei Y6s in the Philippines. The handset has arrived as a budget offering with almost non-existent bezels and a waterdrop notch above the screen. The entry-level smartphone also comes with an appealing design featuring a two-tone finish on the back. The Huawei Y6s is based on Android 9 Pie and has a layer of EMUI 9.1 on top, and comes with face unlock functionality and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.

The Huawei Y6s comes with a 6.09-inch TFT LCD display bearing a resolution of 1,560 x 720 pixels and a pixel density of 283ppi. The phone is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor. The handset comes in two RAM and storage configurations including 3GB + 32GB and 3GB + 64GB. At the rear, the phone has a 13MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, autofocus, and an LED flash unit. On the front, the device has an 8MP selfie snapper with an aperture of f/2.0. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and A-GPS. A 3,020mAh battery completes the list of the specifications.

The Huawei Y6s will be available in the Philippines at the starting price of PHP 6,999 (~Rs 9,850). The phone comes in Orchid Blue and Starry Black colour variants.

In related news, Huawei recently launched the Huawei Y9s in select European markets. The phone is an affordable offering with a pop-up selfie camera, narrow bezels, a triple primary camera system and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Other highlights of the smartphone include a 6.59-inch FHD+ display, a Kirin 710F processor, 48MP main camera, 16MP selfie camera and a 4,000mAh fast-charging battery.
