Chinese consumer technology brand Huawei has silently unveiled another addition to its Y-Series lineup dubbed as Huawei Y7. First introduced as Enjoy 7 Plus in the Chinese market, the device is rebranded as Y7 for the global market. The phone gets a metal unibody design with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The handset, however, lacks the capacitive touch buttons beneath the display.
Specs wise, the Huawei Y7 sports a 5.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The screen further gets 2.5D curved glass on top. Underneath it, an octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor along with 2GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage runs the show. The storage is further expandable via MicroSD card up to 128GB. It is a Dual SIM phone with Hybrid SIM slot and runs Android 7.0 Nougat.
For photography, the Huawei Y7 flaunts a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and PDAF for quick focus which the company claims to be 0.3 seconds. Up front, the phone houses an 8-megapixel snapper for capturing selfies. The phone packs in a 4000mAh which is promised to provide 20 hours to video playback time and up to 15 hours to internet browsing. At connectivity front, the phone gets 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS, Micro-USB port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The phone comes in three colour options – Grey, Prestige Gold and Silver. It measures 53.6 x 76.4 x 8.35 mm and weighs 165 grams. The pricing and availability of the device are yet to be revealed.
