Earlier this month, press renders and alleged specifications of the upcoming Huawei Y7 Prime (2019) had been leaked online. The Huawei Y7 Pro (2019) variant has now surfaced on the web, courtesy of Thailand’s NBTC certification agency.
Huawei DUB-LX2 Granted NBTC Certification
Unfortunately, the NBTC certification only reveals the smartphone’s model number: DUB-LX2. No other details regarding the smartphone are listed on the NBTC website. That said, we expect the Y7 Pro (2019) to be nearly identical to the Y7 Prime (2019) in most areas. The only major difference between the Y7 Pro (2018) and the Y7 Prime (2018) happens to be the presence of a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on the Prime model. It remains to be seen if it will be a similar story with the Y7 Pro (2019) and Y7 Prime (2019).
Going by the leaked specifications of the Y7 Prime (2019), we expect the Y7 Pro (2019) to sport a 6.26-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution and a waterdrop-style notch at the top. Under the hood, the smartphone is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. The Y7 Pro (2018) runs on the Snapdragon 430 chipset. In the memory department, Y7 Pro (2019) is expected to be available with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
In the camera department, the smartphone will not be very different compared to its predecessor. It will have a 13MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the rear and an 8MP selfie snapper on the front. In terms of battery life, however, both the Y7 Prime (2019) and Y7 Pro (2019) will be quite impressive with a 3800mAh capacity battery fueling the internals. As for software, we expect both the models to ship with Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 out of the box. While there is no word yet on when the Y7 Pro (2019) could be made official, we can expect it to be announced alongside other 2019 Y-series Huawei smartphones sometime early next year.
