Chinese manufacturer Huawei is all set to launch its first smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera in India. The company has started teasing the upcoming device on its Twitter handle revealing that the device will be a part of Y-series. It is likely that the device will be the Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) which was launched in Europe as the P Smart Z earlier this year.

So far, the teaser only confirms the presence of a pop-up camera module. If reports about the upcoming smartphone being the Y9 Prime (2019) are true, we can expect the same specs.
To recall, the Y9 Prime (2019) features a large 6.59-inch FHD+ display and a dual-tone design like Pixel devices. It is powered by Kirin 710 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. The phone sports a triple rear camera setup of 16MP+8MP+2MP sensors. The pop-up mechanism houses a 16MP shooter. The smartphone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery unit and runs Android 9 Pie OS. You can check the detailed specs here.
Huawei hasn’t revealed any details regarding the launch date, but we expect to know more in the coming days. The upcoming smartphone is expected to be priced under Rs 20,000. The company will join the pop-up camera trend and will compete against the likes of Realme X, OPPO F11 Pro, and Vivo V15 in the price segment.
