Huawei recently listed its mid-range Y-series offering called the Y9s on Amazon India, hinting at the imminent launch of the smartphone in the country. The newest Y-series device features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, elevating 16MP selfie camera and 48MP triple rear cameras as its highlights.
Huawei has now quietly launched the smartphone in India, and the company claims that the budget-friendly smartphone is designed for the youth. Slated to go on sale from May 19th in India, the Huawei Y9s has already been listed on official store and Amazon India.
Huawei Y9s specifications and features
The Huawei Y9s ships with a 6.59-inch full HD+ Ultra FullView display with a 1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution and 91 percent screen-to-body ratio. Ticking at the core of the handset is a HiSilicon Kirin 710F octa-core processor, which is backed by 6GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. The smartphone boots EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie, but does come with Google Mobile Services, which means you get all Google apps and services.
In the optics department, the smartphone features a triple camera setup on the back, comprising a 48-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 120-degree 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. In the selfie department, the handset offers a pop-up camera module housing a 16-megapixel shooter.
For security, the Huawei Y9s is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, which the brand says takes only 0.3 seconds to unlock the phone. Powering the handset is a 4,000mAh battery.
Huawei Y9s price in India and availability
Huawei is offering the Y9s in India in two paint jobs – Midnight Black and Breathing Crystal. The smartphone will go on sale in India starting May 19th on Amazon India and will retail for Rs 19,990. Huawei is also offering 9-month no-cost EMI, an exchange offer of Rs 1,500 and Rs 1,000 Amazon Pay cashback on the purchase of Huawei Y9s.
