Huawei launched the Y9 (2019) budget Android smartphone in the Indian market in January this year. The Chinese smartphone maker is now planning to launch a new Y series smartphone called the Y9s. We have now spotted thevariants of the upcoming phone in Google’s Android Enterprise catalog.
Huawei Y9s Specifications Revealed
The Huawei Y9s listing on the Android Enterprise catalog reveals the smartphone will come equipped with a 6.5-inch sized display. However, unlike the Y9 (2019), the Y9s will have a notch-less screen. Even though the listing doesn’t actually confirm it, we can be fairly certain that the phone will include a pop-up selfie camera.
In the memory department, Huawei Y9s will feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Unsurprisingly, the smartphone will run on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box with Huawei’s EMUI 9.1 custom user-interface running on top. The listing also confirms the presence of a fingerprint sensor.
The other key specifications of the smartphone, however, remain a mystery at this point. However, the Android Enterprise listing does suggest the Y9s may be officially announced very soon. Thanks to its notch-free display and pop-up selfie camera, we can expect the Y9s to be slightly more expensive than the Y9 (2019).
Huawei had launched the Y9 (2019) in India in January this year at Rs.15,990 but it is now available on Amazon India for INR 12,990. The smartphone had received a price cut of Rs.3,000 in June. Huawei will likely price the Y9s at under INR 15,000 in the Indian market, although we cannot be completely sure if the smartphone will indeed be making its way to our shores.
