Indian cell phone company Hyve Mobility today launched its first flagship phone — the Hyve Pryme, during an event scheduled in New Delhi. With this launch, Hyve becomes the first Indian smartphone brand to come up with a device powered by MediaTek’s Helio X20 Deca-Core processor.
In terms of specifications, the device features a 5.7-inch 2.5D arc class curved display with a 1920 x 1080 pixels Full HD resolution. It is powered by a 2.3GHz Deca-Core MediaTek Helio X20 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The Hyve Pryme comes with an internal storage of 32GB which supports further memory expansion up to 200GB with microSD. The smartphone features a fingerprint sensor which sits right below the rear snapper.
Interestingly, the fingerprint scanner is backed by a Touch2Call feature which allows making quick calls. This is possible by assigning different fingerprints to different contacts. Although we are not sure about this particular handset, most of the fingerprint sensor-enabled phones allow storing up to five different fingerprints. That way, you may add up to four contacts for quick calls using Touch2Call and at least one finger to unlock the phone.
Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, the Hyve Pryme sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture. It also includes 8MP front-facing camera with LED flash. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C with fast charging. A 3500mAh battery completes the package.
The Hyve Pryme is launched in India for Rs 17,999 in gold color option. The phone will be available to purchase exclusively from Amazon. However, the registration to participate in the sale starts November 20th.
