Indian Gadget Awards 2020: winners for the laptop category

The Indian Gadget Awards 2020 had a total of 22 awards for various gadgets, voted upon by 30 . Given the situation last year, laptops were a necessity and we saw smartphone brands entering this niche as well.

As part of the Indian Gadget Awards 2020, laptops were classified into three broad categories – best value-for-money laptop, best gaming laptop, and best laptop. The competition was pretty stiff but we finally have our winners in each category for laptops. Let’s take a look at which devices made the cut.

Best value-for-money laptop of 2020

This category focused on offerings that delivered the perfect balance between an affordable price and specifications to justify the price. Xiaomi clinched the top spot in this category with the Mi Notebook 14 e-Learning Edition, while the Lenovo IdeaPad S340 came in as the runner up.

Best gaming laptop of 2020

In the gaming laptops category, the ASUS Zephyrus G14 with its AniMe Matrix LED display on the outer lid, brilliant 120Hz display, powerful specs, and compact build emerged as the winner. The runner-up was the Lenovo Legion 7i with its 144Hz display, 10th-Gen Intel Core processors, NVIDIA graphics, and more.

Best laptop of 2020

With the new MacBooks powered by the M1 chip, Apple has managed to hit it out of the park when it comes to performance and battery life. It came as no surprise when the majority of the jury members voted for Apple MacBook Pro M1 as their choice of the best laptop of 2020. Coming in at second place is the Dell XPS 15 9500.
