Infinix’s upcoming pop-up selfie camera phone to reportedly be priced below Rs 10,000

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Infinix has been consistently reducing the size of display notches on its smartphones. The Infinix Hot 8 came with a waterdrop notch. The Infinix S5 and S5 Lite that arrived towards the end of the year featured punch-hole displays. Infinix is now working on a smartphone that will arriving with a notch-less display. The phone is expected to come equipped with a pop-up selfie camera. Citing information revealed through industry source, 91mobiles has claimed that the smartphone will be priced less than Rs 10,000.

The report claims that with the pricing of under Rs 10,000, the upcoming Infinix phone will be the cheapest smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera. The name of the smartphone is currently under wraps. Soon after its launch, Tecno is also expected to a similarly designed smartphone under Rs 10,000 in India. The Infinix and Tecno smartphone brands belong to Transsion Holdings from China.

A report by The Mobile Indian from last week had claimed that the pop-up selfie camera Infinix smartphone will be debuting in February. The Chinese manufacturer may introduce it as a smartphone from a new series. It is speculated that the device will be fueled by a MediaTek chipset and it will be a selfie-centric smartphone.

Infinix S5 Lite specifications and price

The Infinix S5 Lite is the most recent phone from the company. Priced at Rs 7,999, the S5 Lite has a punch-hole display measuring 6.6-inches. It carries support for HD+ resolution. The Helio P22 chipset powers the phone with 4GB of RAM. The device is backed by a 4,000mAh battery.

The built-on storage of Infinix S5 Lite is 64 GB and it comes with a microSD card slot. Android 9.0 Pie that comes pre-loaded on the device is customised with the company’s XOS 5.5 Cheetah UI. It has a front camera of 16-megapixels. The back panel of the phone is equipped with a fingerprint scanner and a quad-LED flash enabled triple camera system that includes a 16-megapixel main lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a dedicated low-light sensor.
