Infinix S5 with punch-hole display and quad-cameras launched for Rs 8,999

Infinix has launched a new smartphone in India dubbed as Infinix S5. The device packs impressive specifications and carries an aggressive price tag. Let’s take a look at what the Infinix S5 offers out of the box.

Infinix S5 specifications and features

The Infinix S5 sports a 6.6-inch display bearing HD+ resolution. The device features a punch-hole camera design and offers a 90.5 percent screen to body ratio. The back panel houses a conventional fingerprint scanner and quad-camera setup stacked vertically at the top left corner. The S5 can be availed in three gradient colour options – Quetzal Cyan, Nebula Black and Violet.

In the optics department, the quad-camera setup on the Infinix S5 comprises of a 16MP primary sensor, 5MP wide-angle lens, 2MP super macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The camera is integrated with Google Lens feature. The wide-angle and macro lens are capable of shooting wide-angle and super macro videos respectively. For selfies and video calling, the S5 is fitted with a 32MP front snapper. It also doubles up as a face unlock feature for additional security. 

Infinix S5 has a 16MP primary camera at the rear, which is accompanied by three other sensors including a 5MP sensor and a couple of 2MP shooters

Under the hood, the Infinix S5 is powered by a Helio P22 chipset. It is paired with 4GB RAM and offers 64GB onboard storage which is expandable up to 256GB via dedicated microSD card slot. The smartphone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery unit. On the software front, the Infinix S5 runs the custom XOS 5.5 based on Android 9 Pie OS. It loaded with features like digital wellbeing, smart gestures, hide apps, photo cleanup, etc. 

Infinix S5 price in India

The Infinix S5 is priced at Rs 8,999 and will be available to buy on Flipkart from October 21st. At this price tag, the device is the cheapest smartphone with a punch-hole design and a quad-camera setup. It will compete against the likes of recently launched Redmi Note 8, Realme 5, Galaxy M20 and others.
