Infinix Zero 8 series phones teased in India; launch seems imminent

Infinix has been consistently launching new phones in India. Earlier this month, the company announced the Infinix Smart 4 entry-level device, and it unveiled the Infinix Hot 10 in the previous month. Fresh teasers released by the brand suggests that the company is gearing up to launch a new model in its Zero series smartphones in India. Earlier this year, Infinix announced the Zero 8 and Zero 8i phones in Indonesia and Pakistan, respectively. Hence, it seems that the company could be announcing the Zero 8 or Zero 8i or both phones in India soon.

Since the Zero 8 and Zero 8i smartphones have launched in other markets, their specifications are already known. The Zero 8 is equipped with features such as a high refresh rate display, 48-megapixel dual selfie cameras, 64-megapixel quad rear cameras, and a large-sized battery with fast charging support. The Zero 8i is a toned-down version of the Zero 8 with a different rear-facing camera setup.

Infinix Zero 8 launching soon in India

The teasers released by the company showcases the rhombus-shaped camera module that looks reminiscent to the camera housing available on the Zero 8 and Zero 8i phones. The company is expected to soon confirm the launch date of the Infinix Zero 8 series.

Infinix Zero 8 and Zero 8i specifications and features

The Infinix Zero 8 has a 6.85-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a dual punch-hole design. It supports a 20:9 aspect ratio, a refresh rate of 90Hz paired with 180Hz touch sampling rate. The dual selfie camera setup of the phone uses a 48-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens.

The Zero 8 has a Sony IMX686 64-megapixel quad-camera system that includes auxiliary cameras like an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel portrait lens, and a 2-megapixel low-light video camera. The Helio G90T powers the Zero 8 with 8GB of RAM. It has an internal storage of 128GB and a microSD card slot for more storage.

The Android 10 OS with XOS 7 UI comes preinstalled on the Infinix Zero 8. The handset houses a 4,500mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging technology. A side-facing fingerprint scanner is also available on the device.

The Infinix Zero 8i’s rear-facing quad-camera system comprises of a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel superwide lens, a 2-megapixel camera, and a dedicated AI lens. At the front, it has a dual selfie camera system that includes a 16-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. The other specs of the Zero 8i are identical to that of the Zero 8.

Infinix Zero 8 and Zero 8i price in other markets

In Pakistan, the Zero 8i is selling for PKR 34,999 (~Rs 16,500), whereas the Zero 8 is available for IDR 3,799,000 (~Rs 19,900) in Indonesia. One can expect these smartphones to launch in the sub-Rs 20,000 price segment in India. With Zero 8 series, Infinix will take on Poco, Xiaomi and Realme.
