[Exclusive] Infinix Zero series to be replaced by GT series, here’s launch timeframe

Pricebaba has learned through reliable tipster Paras Guglani that the Infinix Zero series of smartphones has been discontinued. Infinix has been selling the Smart, Hot, Note, and Zero series of smartphones. While the first three are aimed at the entry-level to midrange market, the Zero series comprises of phones with top-notch specs.

Last year, the company launched the Infinix Zero 5G in February as its first-ever 5G phone. The Infinix Zero Ultra, which supports 180W fast charging, and the Zero 20, which is equipped with a 60-megapixel front-facing camera, were announced in December 2022. The new development suggests that the Infinix Zero 5G 2023 series of smartphones, which are slated to debut on February 4th, 2023, could be the last Zero series of smartphones from the brand.

Our source has revealed that the company is planning to launch the Infinix GT series as a replacement for the Zero series. The company will announce two GT-branded smartphones, possibly in March / April this year. Unfortunately, we do not have any information on the final names and specifications of these devices.

All that is known as of now is that the two phones will release in India as well as on the global market. We hope that the upcoming reports will give us more information about the brand’s first GT series of smartphones.

Since the GT series is expected to replace the Zero lineup, it is likely to include phones with high-end specs. Poco and Realme are the other two brands that sell GT-branded phones. Hence, it appears that Infinix could be planning to rival these brands in the high-end or flagship segment with the new GT series.

In related news, the Infinix Zero 5G 2023 Turbo, which will debut on February 4th, will feature a 6.78-inch IPS LCD FHD+ 120Hz display, a Dimensity 1080 chipset, a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage. It will have a 16-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (macro) + 2-megapixel (depth) triple camera unit.
