Instagram finally has face filters, and they look exactly same as that of Snapchat. We all saw this coming, didn’t we? Nevertheless, Facebook owns Instagram, and both the apps have lately been ripping off Snapchat’s features, intensifying the on-going rivalry between the two companies.
Snapchat has its iconic dog face filter. Instagram, in response, has the bunny face. What’s more, it also has a golden crown and nerd glasses up its sleeves. You will find these effects by tapping on the face icon in the bottom right corner. You will find more tools in the camera. There is also an option to play videos in reverse similar to Snapchat.
There are hashtag stickers too. Instagram users watching your story can tap the sticker and explore other posts carrying the same hashtag. There is also an eraser brush in the drawing tools so you can take a photo, fill the screen with a colour and erase with your finger to reveal the picture underneath.
These updates are available on version 10.21 for both Android and iOS. Whether Snapchat should be worried about these updates or not is a valid question since Instagram has over 700 million monthly active users. Snapchat, on the other hand, previously reported about 160 million monthly active users.
What do you think has caused such a drastic decline in terms of monthly active users on Snapchat? Let us know in comments!
