Intex launches Two New Budget Smartphones – Aqua Jewel 2 and Lions T1

Intex, the India-based smartphone maker has added two new members to its budget smartphone portfolio with the launch of the Aqua Jewel and the Lions T1. The phones align with the company’s aim to target the entry-level and mid-price range customers. Let’s have a look at what these phones have in store for us.

Starting with the more pricey Aqua Jewel 2, the smartphone sports a 5-inch HD LCD display having a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels reproducing a pixel density of about 294 PPI. On the back it features an  8-megapixel primary camera coupled with LED flash. On the front the phone integrates a 5-megapixel selfie shooter to capture selfies and make video calls. Out of the box, the phone will run Android Nougat.

Underneath its hood, the Aqua Jewel 2 is powered by the quad-core Spreadtrum SC9832A SoC ticking at 1.3GHz. To keep up with multitasking and other processes, the company has equipped the smartphone with 2GB of RAM. As far as storage is concerned, the phone will ship with 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB through a microSD card. To keep the show running, the smartphone draws power from a 2500mAh battery. The phone will retail for an asking price of Rs. 5,899.

Coming to the Lions T1 which is the less expensive device among the two. It features a 5.2-inch FWVGA display panel having a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. Similar to the Aqua Jewel 2, the Lions T1 also features an 8-megapixel primary camera and 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

In terms of performance, the Lions T1 is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum processor clocked at 1.3GHz which is paired with 1GB of RAM. The phone will ship in an 8GB internal storage variant which can be expanded externally through its microSD card slot up to 64GB. This offering from Intex draws power from a slightly larger 2700mAh battery unit. This smartphone will also run Android Nougat out of the box. The Lions T1 will set you back Rs 4999.
