Apple’s iPhone models have been the benchmark for premium smartphones for over a decade, setting the standard for innovation and user experience. However, with the release of the iPhone 14 line, Apple seems to have hit a bump in the road. Despite record-breaking revenue figures for fiscal Q2, the latest models have received the lowest customer satisfaction rating in almost a decade.
According to the product review site Perfectrec, the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max all fell short of consumers’ expectations compared to the previous year’s models. Here’s everything you need to know about the decline.
iPhone 14 Customers Satisfaction Rating
Perfectrec’s report reveals that the iPhone’s customer satisfaction rating steadily rose or remained static each year from 2012 through 2021. However, the iPhone 14 broke this trend by receiving a lower satisfaction rating than its predecessor. The base model iPhone 14, received only 72% of five-star reviews, a significant drop from the 80% received by the iPhone 13.
Similarly, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models disappointed consumers, receiving lower five-star ratings than the previous year’s models. The iPhone 14 Pro received a 76% five-star rating compared to the iPhone 13 Pro‘s 84%, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max received 80% compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s 86%.
According to the report, the number of reviews giving the iPhone a five-star rating had been decreasing since the iPhone 4, except for a significant increase in 2014 with the iPhone 6. Unfortunately, this trend came to a halt with the iPhone 14.
