Apple iPhone 14 series has launched in India. The lineup has four models: the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. There is no “mini” branded model this time like the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 series.
The iPhone 14 Pro models have arrived with some major upgrades. Apple iPhone 14 and 14 Plus
The iPhone 14 comes with a 6.1-inch Super Retina HDR (OLED) display, whereas the iPhone 14 Plus is blessed with a larger 6.7-inch Super Retina HDR (OLED) screen. Both iPhone 14 models offer up to 1200 nits of brightness, a P3 colour gamut, a 20,000,000:1 contrast ratio, haptic touch, and a 60Hz refresh rate.
The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus feature a sensor-shift OIS-enabled 12-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree FOV. Both phones have photography features like Deep Fusion, Smart HDR 4, Action mode, portrait mode with advanced bokeh and depth control, portrait lighting, night mode, up to 60fps 4K video recording, and 120fps/240fps slow-motion video recording.
The iPhone 14 duo retain the Apple A15 Bionic, which powers the entire iPhone 13 series. The iPhone 14 can offer up to 20 hours of video playback, while the Pro Plus variant can offer up to 26 hours of video playback.

The iPhone 14 Pro has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR (LTPO OLED), while the iPhone 14 Pro Max gets a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR (LTPO OLED) display with ProMotion support, which brings support for an adaptive refresh rate from 10Hz to 120Hz. Both devices support Always-on Display, up to 2,000 nits of brightness outdoors, haptic touch, a 20,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and a P3 wide colour gamut. The major attraction of the iPhone 14 Pro models’ displays is that they feature a new pill-shaped cutout. The display area around it can be customised to show notifications, widgets, playback controls, and more. Apple has called it the “Dynamic Island.”
Apple’s fastest and newest chip, the A16 Bionic, is present under the hood of the iPhone 14 Pro series. The SoC comprises a 6-core CPU with 2 performance and 4 efficiency cores, 5-core GPU, and a 16-core neural engine.
The iPhone 14 Pro models are fitted with a 48-megapixel main camera with sensor-shift OIS It is assisted by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree FOV, an OIS-enabled 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a LiDAR scanner. Thanks to the inclusion of the Apple A16 Bionic, the iPhone 14 Pro models offer the longest battery life ever seen on iPhones. According to Apple, the iPhone 14 Pro will offer up to 23 hours of video playback, whereas the Pro Max will offer up to 29 hours of video playback.
The entire iPhone 14 lineup comes with common features like iOS 16, an autofocus-enabled 12-megapixel front-facing camera, 15W wireless charging, MagSafe charging, Face ID for biometrics, GPS (dual frequency GPS on Pro models), NFC, 5G connectivity, iBeacon micro-location, eSIM support (only in the US), satellite communication for emergency SOS, and crash detection. The iPhone 14 duo has an aluminium frame, while the Pro models are equipped with a stainless-steel frame. All four models offer IP68-certified dust and water resistance.

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus have debuted in variants, such as 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. It comes in four colours, such as Midnight (black), Starlight (white), Product (RED), blue, and purple. In India, the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus starts at Rs 79,900 and Rs 89,900, respectively. The pre-order of the iPhone 14 lineup will start at 5:30 pm on September 9th, 2022. The vanilla model will go on sale from September 16th, while the Plus edition will be available for purchase from October 7th, 2022.
The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max come in storage options like 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. It can be purchased in colours like Space Black, Gold, Silver, and Deep Purple. Both models start at Rs 1,29,900 and Rs 1,39,900, respectively. The pre-order of the Pro models will start at 5:30 pm on September 9th and the sales are scheduled to start on September 16th, 2022.
