New leak spills the beans on Apple iPhone 15 pricing

  • The iPhone 15 is expected to be unveiled towards the end of the year
  • Previous reports have talked about the inclusion of Dynamic Island across all iPhone 15 models
  • The base models of the iPhone 15 lineup could also get a camera upgrade

The Apple iPhone 15 has been subject to a handful of leaks so far. We’re now learning about the pricing of the Cupertino giant’s late 2023 iPhone releases, courtesy of a source on Weibo.

This new leak details the price tag of all upcoming iPhone models, including the iPhone 15 Ultra, which would be the new moniker for the Pro Max variant. As with any early leak/rumour, it’s hard to tell if these prices will hold up. Whatever the case, we recommend you take it with a grain of salt for now.

iPhone 15 expected price

Starting with the basic iPhone 15 variant, the leak claims it will start from $799 (~ Rs 65,200), while the iPhone 15 Plus would cost $899 (~ Rs 73,400). Lastly, the iPhone 15 Pro will reportedly begin from $1,099 (~ Rs 89,700) and the top-end iPhone 15 Ultra from $1,199 (~ Rs 97,900).

This shows that the entry-level models of the iPhone 15, i.e., the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus, will cost the same as their iPhone 14 siblings. The only real price increase is with the Pro and Ultra models this year, which are witnessing a bump of $100 each.

This report also claims that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus variants could get a camera upgrade, possibly including a 48-megapixel primary camera. If true, this would be a game changer for Apple, especially since the pricing is expected to stay the same as their predecessors.

A move like this would bridge the price gap even further between the standard iPhone and Plus models and their Pro/Ultra counterparts. There have been reports of Apple implementing Dynamic Island across all iPhone models, a feature currently limited to the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models.

We’re still some months away from Apple’s late-year iPhone announcement. However, the company will likely announce the next major iPhone operating system, iOS 17, at WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) in June. Hopefully, early versions of the new OS could drop hints about potential iPhone 15 features that we don’t know about. This developer event will also see the launch of macOS 14, iPadOS 17, and watchOS 9 operating systems.
