Last month Apple announced the iPhone 11 series. Now, according to noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company is gearing up to release a more affordable option in form of the iPhone SE 2. To recall, Apple had launched the first generation iPhone SE back in 2016. Kuo had previously predicted that the SE 2 would arrive early in 2020.
Just like the original iPhone SE was an adapted version of the iPhone 5s, the iPhone SE 2 is expected to arrive as a device similar to the iPhone 8. The smartphone will likely retain the same design language of the 2017 iPhone 8. It will feature a 4.7-inch screen and a physical TouchID sensor. The device will be sold in Silver, Space Gray, and Red colours. According to Kuo, the iPhone SE 2 is expected to come with upgraded internals. It will be powered by the latest A13 Bionic processor which also powers the iPhone 11 series. The iPhone SE 2 is expected to pack 3GB RAM and ship in 64GB and 128GB storage options.
Kuo predicts the starting price of iPhone SE 2 will be $399 (~Rs 28,000) for the base variant. He believes that the smartphone will arrive in the first quarter of 2020. The iPhone 8 is currently the cheapest device in Apple’s lineup at $449 (~Rs 32,000). But if the reports are true, the iPhone SE 2 will be more powerful than the iPhone 8.
