The iPhone SE (2020) went official last month. The compact iPhone, which also happens to be Apple’s most affordable, is the successor to the original iPhone SE that was launched back in 2016. While the new iPhone SE hasn’t gone on sale yet, Apple has announced a partnership with HDFC, where customers of the bank will be able to avail a cashback of Rs 3,600 on purchase of the device.
The new iPhone SE carries forward the compact form-factor of its predecessor. However, internally, the phone features the Apple A13 Bionic SoC, bringing it on par with the iPhone 11 series in terms of performance.
iPhone SE 2020 HDFC cashback offer
The iPhone SE has been launched at a starting price of Rs 42,500 in India for the 64GB variant. HDFC bank credit and debit card holders, as well as those buying the phone with EMIs will be able to avail a flat Rs 3,600 cashback. This will bring the starting price of the iPhone SE down to Rs 38,900.
The 128GB and 256GB variants of the iPhone SE are priced at Rs 47,800 and Rs 58,300, respectively. With the HDFC cashback offer, these variants will be available for Rs 44,200 and Rs 54,700, respectively.
iPhone SE 2020 specifications and features
Design wise, the iPhone SE 2020 closely resembles the iPhone 8. It features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with support for Dolby Vision and HDR 10+. There are thick bezels above and below the display, with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor is embedded into the chin. The phone features a glass back panel and supports wireless charging. There’s also an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.
Performance-wise, Apple’s A13 Bionic chipset is at the helm of the device. This is the same processor that powers the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, which means the performance is on par with Apple’s 2019 flagships. It runs iOS 13 out of the box, and comes with support for Apple Arcade.
There’s a single 12MP camera on the back, with features such as portrait mode, portrait lighting, depth control and Smart HDR on offer. In the front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera.
The iPhone SE features a Lightning connector and supports up to 18W fast charging, which the brand claims can fully recharge the battery in 30 minutes. There’s no 3.5mm jack on board, but you do get features like Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit LTE and dual SIM with e-SIM support.
