The IPL 2021 Dubai leg is now underway. The tournament has restarted in Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi after it was cancelled earlier this year. Notably, the tournament which kicked off in April had to be halted mid-way because several players and support staff were diagnosed with COVID-19. BCCI is now hosting the remaining matches in UAE starting September 19th till October 15th, when the IPL final will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

While Disney+ Hotstar is the official streaming partner of the IPL, its parent company Star India owns the broadcasting rights to telecast the tournament. The network is broadcasting the tournament in 6 languages across various channels in the country. There is a double header in IPL 2021 on September 25th, where Delhi Capitals will take on Rajasthan Royals at 3.30pm and Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Punjab Kings at 7.30pm IST. Both RR and DC are coming from victories in their first matches of the IPL 2021 phase 2. Both these teams will battle it out in Abu Dhabi to continue their streak. Delhi Capitals is second on the points table and has won two of the two matches it played against RR in UAE in the past. RR on the other hand has an experienced squad to take on the challenge.

Coming to the SRH vs PBKS, the match will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Unlike DC and RR, these two teams are coming from bitter losses in their last fixtures and are at the bottom of the points table. While PBKS has been unable to finish off games, SRH has not been playing to its full potential. In today’s game, both teams will be looking to revive their position in the tournament.

IPL 2021 schedule and fixtures

As mentioned before, the Vivo IPL 2021 kickstarted on April 9th with a play-off between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. All playoff matches and the season final on May 30th were to be played in the world’s largest cricket stadium – Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, due to major players catching coronavirus and the rapid spread of the pandemic, the tournament had to be cancelled.

BCCI had announced back then that the tournament will be resumed sometime later during the year and will be shifted to Dubai. Now, the board has announced the new schedule of the remaining matches of the IPL 2021. The matches will be held in Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.
