Vivo’s iQOO sub-brand is gearing up to launch its first smartphones in India. It is said that this month will see the arrival of two iQOO phones. One could be a 5G phone powered by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform and the other could be a 4G handset. The brand is yet to confirm the names of these devices, but the rumour mill is speculating the Snapdragon 865 model may debut as the iQOO 3. Last month, the 3C certification body of China had approved a 5G phone with a 55W fast charger. It is speculated that this device which has the model number V1955A could be the iQOO 3. Today, the same phone has appeared as “iQOO V1955A” on the database of TENAA through which it all its specifications have been revealed.
iQOO 3 specifications and features
The iQOO V1955A has an AMOLED display measuring 6.44-inches that offers 1,080 x 2,400 pixels full HD+ resolution and a tall aspect ratio of 20:9. All the iQOO phones that went official last year had waterdrop notch screens. However, a reliable Chinese tipster had claimed recently that the next generation iQOO phone will be flaunting a punch-hole display. The real-life images of the purported iQOO 3 had leaked earlier this week.
It is believed that the iQOO 3 could be featuring the same screen that is available on the Vivo V17 that debuted in India in the previous month. The screen has been also used on other phones like the Vivo X30 series and Vivo S5 that are available in China. The display of the V1955A is embedded with a fingerprint sensor. While the iQOO 3 is expected to arrive with gaming-centric features, its display may only support a refresh rate of 60Hz.
The 2.84GHz octa-core processor that powers the V1955A phone could be the Snapdragon 865 chipset. The device draws power from a 4,370mAh battery. This seems to be the minimum rated capacity and its typical capacity could be 4,410mAh battery. The phone may could be selling with a 55W fast charger in China.
The RAM variants of the phone listed on TENAA are 6GB, 8GB and 12GB. It may hit the Chinese markets in storage models like 128GB and 256GB and will come preinstalled with the latest Android 10. The OS could be overlaid with Monster UI from iQOO.
The punch-hole of V1955A will be housing a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. The smartphone is rumoured to be equipped with a quad camera system at the upper-left corner of its rear shell. TENAA has revealed that it has a 64-megapixel primary lens, a secondary lens of 13-mgeapixels, a third sensor of 13-megapixels and a fourth lens of 2-megapixels.
iQOO China is yet to confirm the arrival of its next smartphone. Now that the purported iQOO 3 has bagged TENAA certification, it appears that the phone may go official later this month.
