iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro with 120Hz displays and Snapdragon 865 launched: price, specifications

iQOO has finally taken the covers off its iQOO 5 series that includes two models – the iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro. Like all the previous iQOO flagships, the iQOO 5 feature premum hardware. The iQOO 5 Pro comes with support for 120W fast charging technology, which debuted on the Mi 10 Ultra last week.

The iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro are equipped with 120Hz refresh rate displays. They are packed with impressive specs like LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and 50-megapixel triple rear cameras.

The iQOO 5 Pro is the second phone after the Mi 10 Ultra to come with 120W fast charging support

The iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro are fitted with 6.56-inch displays with full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,376 pixels. The iQOO 5 has a flat display, while the Pro edition has a curved screen. Both displays sport punch-hole cameras, in-display fingerprint sensors, 120Hz refresh rates, 240Hz touch sampling rates, HDR10+, 103 percent NTSC color gamut, and a 92.6 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The Snapdragon 865 mobile platform powers the iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro smartphones. Both handsets come with up to 12GB of LPPDR5 RAM and 256GB of built-in UFS 3.1 storage. The iQOO 5 has a 4,500mAh battery with 55W fast charging support whereas the Pro model features a 4,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging capabilities.

According to iQOO, the iQOO 5 Pro can fully charge in just 15 minutes through the 120W fast charging technology. There is VC liquid cooling for heat dissipation. For gamers, it comes with features like Hawkeye display enhancement 2.0, Game Box, and x-axis linear assisted 4D Game Shock.

There is a 16-megapixel camera on the front of the iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro. Both phones are fitted with LED flash assisted triple cameras on their back. The iQOO 5 series has a 50-megapixel Samsung GN1 main camera, a 13-megapixel super-wide lens, and a 13-megapixel portrait lens. The iQOO 5 offers photography features such as EIS, 20x digital zoom, and 4K video shooting. On the other hand, the iQOO 5 Pro has photography features like OIS, EIS, 5x optical zoom, 60x hybrid zoom, and 8K video shooting.

The phones run iQOO UI 5.0 based on Android 10 duo. The connectivity features include dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. The phones lack a 3.5mm audio jack, but come with features like Hi-Res audio certified stereo speakers along with a built-in audio chip.

iQOO 5 and iQOO 5 Pro pricing and availability

The iQOO 5 comes in three variants in China such as 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. They are priced at RMB 3,998 (~Rs 43,100), RMB 4,298 (~Rs 46,400), and RMB 4,598 (~Rs 49,600) respectively. The phone comes in two colours like gradient black and gradient blue.

The iQOO 5 Pro comes in 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variants. They are priced at RMB 4,998 (~Rs 53,900) and RMB 5,498 (~Rs 59,300), respectively. Since iQOO has collaborated with BMW M Motorsport, it comes in two finishes. The Tracking Version features a texture carbon fiber rear panel overlaid with matte glass. The Legendary Edition has a white leather rear panel, with red and blue stripes on the left.

The sales of the iQOO 5 series will be carried out on August 24th in China. While there are speculations that iQOO will bring the iQOO 5 series to India, there is no official word on it yet.
