iQOO 8 series will debut in China on August 17th at 7.30 pm local time. The company announced the launch date on its official Weibo handle. The upcoming smartphones from the Vivo sub-brand will arrive as the successor to the iQOO 7 series that had debuted in January this year.
The iQOO 8 lineup is expected to consists of standard and Pro variants. The brand hasn’t revealed much details about the upcoming smartphones but we can expect it to come with upgrades over its predecessor.
iQOO 8 series to launch later this month
The iQOO 8 series has been subject to a number of leaks and rumours. The smartphones are expected to feature Samsung’s E5 AMOLED LTPO display bearing a resolution of 2K+ pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate screen. It will likely have a center-aligned punch-hole camera cutout and an integrated fingerprint scanner.
As per reports, the iQOO 8 series is tipped to be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor. It will pack up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphones will also offer an additional virtual 4GB RAM for better multitasking.
The iQOO 8 series is expected to sport a quad-camera setup, however, the exact sensor configuration is not known yet. The smartphones will reportedly be powered by a 4,000mAh battery unit with support for 160W fast charging. The iQOO 8 series will ship with OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11.
