iQOO 9 series India launch has been confirmed. The company has revealed that the lineup will include three models such as iQOO 9, iQOO 9 Pro, and iQOO 9 SE smartphones. After the launch, the iQOO 9 lineup will be available for purchase through Amazon India.
The upcoming iQOO 9 series will be replacing the iQOO 7 and iQOO 7 Legend smartphones that were announced last year in India. The series will offer key specs such as Snapdragon 8-series chipset, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, 120W FlashCharge, gimbal-OIS camera, dual x-axis linear motor, and advanced liquid cooling technology. In addition, popular YouTuber Technical Guruji has shared the live images and plenty of information on the specs of the iQOO 9, 9 Pro, and 9 SE handsets.
iQOO 9 series key specifications
In the above-shown image, the iQOO 9 can be seen flaunting a black coloured rear shell with a textured design. The device shown on the right is the iQOO 9 Pro, which features a large camera module, a white back panel, and the BMW M Motorsport inspired tri-coloured stripes. The bottom edge of both models have a SIM slot, a microphone, a USB Type-C slot, and a speaker grille. The frontside of both handsets feature a punch-hole display.
iQOO is providing a 6.78-inch E5 AMOLED LTPO 2.0 curved edge screen on the iQOO 9 Pro. It offers a Quad HD+ resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate display. The iQOO 9 gets a 6.56-inch AMOLED display that offers FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 10-bit colours. Both phones also offer a 300Hz touch sampling rate, a 1000Hz instantons touch sampling rate, and an independent display chip that enhances the image quality. The Pro model offers an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, whereas the iQOO 9 gets an optical in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The iQOO 9 Pro will come with 12GB of RAM, 4GB of virtual RAM, 256GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform. On the other side, the iQOO 9 will arrive with 8GB of RAM, 4GB of extended RAM, 128GB of storage, and a Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset. The iQOO 9 series will run on Android 12 OS, which will be overlaid with FunTouchOS 12 UI. Both models will carry support for 120W FlashCharge technology. However, their battery capacities are yet to be confirmed.
For photography, the iQOO 9 Pro features the latest 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 150-degree FOV, and a 16-megapixel telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom. Technical Guruji did not share any information on the camera configurations of the iQOO 9. The live images of the phone confirm that both models will come equipped with gimbal-OIS for capturing highly stabilised videos and photos.
To begin with, the iQOO 9 SE will be an affordable flagship, which will feature the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. This indicates that it will compete with other affordable flagships such as Galaxy S21 FE 5G, Xiaomi 11T Pro, and OnePlus 9RT. The iQOO 9 SE is equipped with a 6.62-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz display with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. It also features a triple camera unit, but the details of its lenses are under the wraps. The iQOO 9 series will also feature dual stereo speakers.
To sum up, the iQOO 9 Pro appears to be the same device that debuted in China in January 2022. The iQOO 9 seems to be a rebranded version of China’s iQOO 8 handset, whereas the iQOO 9 SE could be a rebadged version of China’s iQOO Neo 5S, which was announced in December 2021.
iQOO 9 series pricing (expected)
Technical Guruji revealed that the iQOO 9 series will carry a starting price of Rs 35,000. The iQOO 9 SE may start at this price. Probably, the iQOO 9 may start at Rs 45,000, whereas the more powerful iQOO 9 Pro may begin at Rs 55,000. It appears that the company will be confirming the iQOO 9 series launch date in the next few days.
