iQOO 9 series launch date has been confirmed. The company will be holding a launch event at 7:30 PM (local time) on January 5th, 2022, in China. Reports have revealed that the lineup will include two models such as iQOO 9 and 9 Pro. iQOO China has released a couple of teasers to showcase the key design and features of the iQOO 9 lineup.

Like the predecessor iQOO 8 and iQOO 7 models that were launched in China, the upcoming iQOO 9 will also come in a white edition among other colour options. The white that features the trademark red, black, and blue stripes has been designed in partnership with BMW M Motorsport. Reports have revealed that the iQOO 9 series will be equipped with high refresh rate AMOLED displays, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and 50-megapixel triple cameras.
iQOO 9, 9 Pro specifications (rumoured)
The handset shown in the image appears to be the iQOO 9, which is expected to house an AMOLED panel with a flat design. It is speculated that the vanilla model will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED E5 display that produces a Full HD+ resolution. On the other hand, the iQOO 9 Pro will arrive with a 6.78-inch curved edge AMOLED E5 panel that offers a Quad HD+ resolution. Both phones are expected to carry support for a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset will be powering the iQOO 9 lineup. For regulating the internal heat, the series will be equipped with a 3D vapour-chamber heat dissipation unit. The iQOO 9 Pro is expected to feature a 4,700mAh battery, whereas the iQOO 9 may house a slightly smaller battery. Both smartphones are expected to carry support for 120W fast charging.
The iQOO 9 and 9 Pro will be fitted with a rectangle-shaped camera module. The former may feature a 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 primary camera with OIS support, a 13-megapixel ultrawide snapper with a 120-degree field-of-view, and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 telephoto camera that offers 2x optical zoom. The iQOO 9 Pro’s triple camera unit may comprise of a gimbal OIS-assisted 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 main camera, a 150-degree 50-megapixel Samsung GN1 lens for ultrawide snaps, and a 16-megapixel telephoto lens with 2.5x zoom and OIS support.
