iQOO to debut in India in February with country’s first 5G-enabled Snapdragon 865 smartphone

In the past few weeks, there have been reports that Vivo’s iQOO is planning to debut in the Indian smartphone market. Today, putting end to the rumours, the Chinese phone maker is certainly entering the country as soon as next month. Notably, iQOO has announced that it will be foraying in India with the country’s first 5G-enabled Qualcomm Snapdragon 865-powered smartphone. The first iQOO handset in the country will focus on providing robust performance capabilities in three main segments including charging, gaming, and design. iQOO hasn’t yet revealed the name of the handset to be unveiled in India, it will be a global launch of the device in the Indian market.

iQOO will be bringing premium products in India

Since the iQOO phones will have a key focus on performance and gaming, they will be designed to keep up with the needs of smartphone gamers in mind. iQOO has announced that it is headquartered in India in Bengaluru. The iQOO smartphones will be manufactured locally, and they will be sold via both e-commerce portals and offline stores across the country. The brand has promised that it will be setting up independent service centres across the country. Unfortunately, only these details were officially shared about iQOO’s plans in the country.

“iQOO, which stands ‘I quest on and on’, will be a new smartphone brand from BBK group. It’ll disrupt the premium smartphone segment with ultimate performance,” said the company’s India Director – Marketing, Gagan Arora. “We see extreme potential in the premium segment smartphone market in India and have deep-dived to understand the gap that the consumers face in this segment. We understand very closely that there is an increasing demand for performance delivery devices and smooth smartphone experience”, he added further.

iQOO will be debuting in India in the premium smartphone segment. The company will be competing against the likes of OnePlus and POCO in the country. Since February is just around the corner, we will have more official details in the days to come, so stay tuned.
