iQOO Neo 3 to launch in China on April 23rd; 144Hz display and Snapdragon 865 confirmed

Chinese smartphone manufacturer iQOO, a sub-brand of Vivo, has become one of the popular names in India with the launch of its powerful iQOO 3 5G (review) earlier this year. While the brand only has one smartphone in its Indian portfolio, it has been super active in its home market of China. iQOO has launched several smartphones like Neo 855 Racing Edition, iQOO Neo, iQOO Pro and more. Now, the brand has gone ahead and confirmed the launch of its next flagship, the iQOO Neo 3 in China on April 23rd. The brand also confirmed a few specifications of the upcoming smartphone through the poster it shared on Chinese microblogging platform, Weibo.

While a recent leak revealed the entire spec sheet of the upcoming smartphone, the company has now confirmed a few of them. One of the speculations debunked by the brand is that the iQOO Neo 3 will have a 120Hz refresh rate display. Instead, the upcoming smartphone will feature a super smooth 144Hz refresh rate, which we have seen on the nubia Red Magic 5G before. The poster also reveals that the iQOO Neo 3 will feature the latest and greatest from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 865 SoC. Apart from that, the handset will feature the UFS 3.1 storage standard for faster data transfer speeds. iQOO has not confirmed further details of the upcoming device.

According to the speculations, the iQOO Neo 3 will come in as the successor to iQOO Neo gaming smartphone and as such will flaunt gaming-centric features. The aforementioned recent leak revealed that the Neo 3 will offer users the freedom to select between three refresh rates including 60Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz. The smartphone will also come with a punch-hole display with a single selfie camera on the front. As for the configuration, the reports suggested that the phone will be offered in a single configuration with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. Other features of the handset include the Android 10-based FunTouch OS 10, 4,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging and a 48MP primary camera on the rear.
