The brand has already confirmed that the smartphone will go official on March 16th in China. As the launch date draws closer, iQOO has been revealing key specs of the handset on its Weibo handle. iQOO Neo 5 spotted on Geekbench ahead of March 16th launch

In the recent Geekbench listing, the iQOO Neo 5 is listed with the model number V2055A, which corroborates past leaks. The handset is seen with Android 11 and 12GB RAM in the listing.

Additionally, the listing mentions the ‘Kona’ chipset, which is the codename associated with the Snapdragon 865. However, the clock speed of 3.19GHz and Android 650 GPU in the benchmark points towards the Snapdragon 870 SoC, which is in line with the previous leaks. Considering that the Snapdragon 870 is based on the same design as the Snapdragon 865 and 865+, the ‘Kona’ name in the Geekbench listing does not come as a surprise.

The iQOO Neo 5 scored a respectable 4,606 in single-core tests and 12,549 in multi-core tests on the benchmarking platform.

iQOO Neo 5 specifications and features (expected)

Additionally, the smartphone will boast of a display chipset for upscaling SDR images to HDR and improve visual quality. The smartphone will also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner with a separate chip to improve accuracy and speed.

Past reports have suggested that the iQOO Neo 5 screen will measure 6.61-inches. In the camera department, the handset is rumoured to feature a 48MP Sony IMX598 primary sensor backed by a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth or macro sensor. In the front, the punch-hole cutout will house an 8MP selfie camera

Lastly, the iQOO Neo 5 will reportedly have a 4,000mAh battery with 66W fast charging and run Android 11-based Origin OS.
