iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition with Snapdragon 855+ and 4,500mAh battery launched China

In October, Vivo’s gaming sub-brand iQOO had launched the iQOO Neo 855 phone. As the name goes, it featured the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has introduced another gaming phone with Neo branding in China. The all new iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition that has gone official today is driven by the Snapdragon 855+ that offers enhanced CPU and GPU performance compared to the SD855 chipset. The other key features of the iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition include a tall display, enhanced gaming capabilities, large-sized battery with fast charging technology and affordable pricing.

iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition launched in China with Snapdragon 855+

The glass-bodied iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition measures 159.53 x 75.23 x 8.13mm and it weighs 198.5g. The smartphone features an S-AMOLED display measuring 6.38-inches with a waterdrop notch. The display of the phone is embedded with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The 19.5:9 aspect ratio screen produces full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and carries support for HDR10.

At the helm of the iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition is the 2.96GHz Snapdragon 855+ mobile platform. The phone comes in 8GB and 12GB RAM variants. Both models have UFS 3.0 native storage of 128GB. There is no support for a microSD card slot on the device. The iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition is backed by a battery of 4,500mAh. The device comes with support for 33W fast charging technology. To regulate the internal temperature of the device, it comes with a 10-layer heat dissipation system that comprises of liquid cooling technology, heat pipes and thermally conducive gel.

The iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition possesses a selfie camera of 16-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture. The triple camera setup features a 12-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a third 2-megapixel lens.

The phone runs Monster UI, which is a modified version of FunTouch OS 9 based on Android 9 Pie. Vivo’s Multi-Turbo technology enhances the performance of the phone during regular usage and gaming. For gamers, the smartphone offers Game Box and Game Space 2.5. For connectivity, the iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition smartphone comes with features like dual 4G VoLTE, dual Wi-Fi acceleration that connects to 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands at the same time, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm audio jack. The iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition features face unlock, apart from an in-display fingerprint scanner.

iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition Pricing and Release Date

The iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition will go on sale in China on December 12th and is now available for pre-orders. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 128GB storage models of the smartphone are priced at RMB 2,598 (~Rs 26,400) and RMB 2,798 (~Rs. 28,400), respectively. Iceland Aurora, Carbon Black and Light Mint are the colour editions of the iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition smartphone.

The iQOO gaming phone sub-brand was introduced by Vivo this year. None of the previously released iQOO smartphones have released in India. Hence, it is difficult to assume whether the iQOO Neo 855 Racing Edition will be made available in India.
