Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO is expected to introduce a new flagship smartphone at an event in its home market of China at some point next month. Ahead of the launch, the device has been the subject of a number of headlines lately. Most recently, a gadget tipster on the Chinese social networking website Weibo revealed the specifications of the upcoming iQOO offering, but there was no word regarding the official name of the device. However, gadget tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has now claimed that the next iQOO smartphone will be officially called the iQOO 3. No other details about the device have been revealed by the source.

iQOO 3 specifications and features
According to the recently leaked specs sheet, the iQOO 3 could be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 865. The chipset will provide support for NSA and SA 5G networks. The phone will be equipped with a 6.44-inch OLED screen panel from Samsung and a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. The handset is rumoured to offer a single hole in the upper-right corner of the display. While the latest flagship products from many brands offer higher screen refresh rates like 90Hz or 120Hz, the iQOO 3 is said to settle with a rate of 60Hz only.
Furthermore, the recent leak suggested that the iQOO 3 will be arriving with a quad-camera setup at the rear. The primary sensor of the module is said to utilise a 48MP lens. Other camera features of the handset have not been revealed by rumour mill yet. The reports suggest that the iQOO 3 will be equipped with a beefy 4,410mAh battery, which will feature support for 55W fast charging. The other specs of the device are expected to include up to 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, Android 10, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Recently, iQOO announced that it will be entering India at some point in February. The brand said that it will debut in the market with the country’s first 5G-enabled Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. Speculations indicate that the iQOO 3 could be the first offering from the brand in India.
