Telecommunication giant Vodafone has teamed up with Itel to launch a 4G smartphone at an entry-level pricing. The phone is termed as Itel A20 and comes with basic features and specifications. It is priced at Rs. 3,690 but customers will receive a cashback of Rs. 2,100 which brings the effective price of the phone to Rs. 1,590. This is a similar method of pricing followed by Reliance JioPhone and Airtel Intex Aqua Lions N1, both of which launched recently.
The Itel A20 comes with a 4-inch display bearing a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. In terms of performance, it has a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The processor is coupled with 1GB of RAM and has 8GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
The smartphone features a 2-megapixel rear camera accompanied with a flash. On the front, there’s a 0.3-megapixel camera provided for selfies and video-calling. The phone packs in a 1500mAh battery unit and supports two SIMs. It is available in three different colours: Dark Blue, Champagne Gold and Silver.

To get the cashback, users need to recharge their Itel A20 every month for 3 years. The recharges need to be of Rs. 150/month. This can be paid lump sum at once or separately every month. After the initial 18-months, the customers will receive Rs. 900 as cashback and the remaining Rs. 1200 will be given after the completion of 36 months. The cashback will be given in Vodafone’s M-Pesa wallet.
Vodafone says that this bundled offer will be available for buyers until March 31st, 2018. This is a new trend catching upon telecom operators and phone manufacturers as they come together to offer a 4G smartphone with cashback.
