With the new iTel A62, the company has finally joined the dual rear camera smartphone bandwagon. The phone will carry an affordable price tag of Rs. 7,499. Does the phone have what it takes to compete in the sub-Rs. 10,000 price bracket? Let’s find out.
Display and Design
On the A62, iTel has fit a 5.65-inch HD+ display having a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels which brings its pixel density up to 285 PPI. This is a fairly decent display in this price segment and also large enough for media consumption. In terms of design, the front of the phone is largely occupied by the screen on the front whereas there is a fingerprint sensor located on the back and a vertically aligned camera setup. Through the images, the phone appears to look aesthetically appealing, especially considering its price tag 😉
Performance and Storage
The iTel A62 is powered by the quad-core MediaTek MT6739WA processor ticking at 1.3GHz. This is coupled with 2GB of RAM for smooth multitasking. On the storage side of things, the phone ships with 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB through a microSD card. These specifications seem pretty decent for a smartphone priced under Rs. 8000, however, the RAM may feel slightly less if you are a heavy user or gamer.
Camera and Software
The major highlight of this phone has to be its dual rear camera setup, which is a first for the company. It comprises of a 13-megapixel sensor coupled with a secondary VGA sensor. Through its software, the phone also allows for features such as portrait mode, panorama mode, low light mode and Face Beauty. Up front, the smartphone rocks a 5-megapixel selfie camera which, just like the rear camera setup, is also coupled with LED flash. Speaking about the software version that this phone comes with out of the box, Android 8.1 Oreo runs the show.
Connectivity and Battery
As far as connectivity goes, the phone checks off all the right requirements and includes support for 3G, 4G with VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. Underneath its hood, the phone also features a 3,000mAh battery unit that is responsible for keeping the phone running for a day with moderate usage.
At a price tag of Rs. 7,499, the phone appears to be a pretty sweet deal if you are looking for a phone with dual cameras running on the latest version of Android.
