Malayalam comedy drama, Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, which stars renowned cast from the South Indian film industry received critical acclaim for its story and performances. The film is now ready to release on an OTT platform in India.

Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey: Cast and Crew

Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey is written and directed by Vipin Das, and stars popular names like Basil Joseph, Darshana Rajendran and Aju Varghese in lead roles. The film as been co-written by Nashid Mohamed Famy; and produced by Lakshmi Warrier and Ganesh Menon under Cheers Entertainments’ banner.

The cinematography of the film has been done by Bablu Aju while the editing has been done by Johnkutty. Ankit Menon has given the music for Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey which is distributed by Icon Cinemas.

Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey: OTT release details – Where to Watch

Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey had its theatrical release in the last week of October 2022. The film was announced on Republic Day this year and the shooting began a few months later in May 2022, which lasted for approximately over 40 days. The filming ended in June 2022 and makers announced the premise to have sarcasm as a theme in the film.

The OTT rights have also been bought and fans can soon watch Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey on Disney+ Hotstar. The satellite rights have been acquired by Asianet. More details about the OTT release are awaited.

Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey: Trailer and Story

The story of the film revolves around an ambitious smart girl, Jaya, who comes from a middle-class background and is guarded by her family who is equally or majorly involved in taking decisions for her. While her brother’s future becomes an important matter of discussion at home, Jaya’s future studies, interests, etc. are not taken into consideration. Her brother is sent to an expensive college and she is just sent to a parallel one nearby, despite which Jaya strives to achieve her goals and dreams. Her parents soon plan to get her married before her education is completed and find Rajesh to be the perfect groom, who after knowing Jaya, supports her in continuing her studies. Soon she finds out that Rajesh is not as she imagined. Short-tempered by nature, he disregards people around him and also does not stick to his words of supporting her eventually showing his adamant side in decisions he makes which often go against others’ likes and dislikes. Their chemistry fades and relationship sours over time so much so that he begins to physically abuse Jaya. She complaints about this to her parents who do not support her and in turn ask her to adjust and become an ideal wife.

What follows are series of events and incidents which Jaya does to take a stand and bring the miseries to an end. Knowing that she has no support from anyone, the film focuses on what she does for her self-respect.

Critics and the audience lauded the efforts showcased by the makers in the film. A subject which is quite known for several years now, is presented in a refreshing manner with light humour which does not affect the seriousness of the matter which is showcased. The strong narrative, supported by impressive performances, direction and more, helps the film become an excellent watch.

Made at a budget approximately Rs. 6 crore, trade experts state that Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey collected over Rs. 40 crore in merely 25 days of the release becoming a massive hit.
