Jet Black is the New Rose Gold: The Vivo X7 is the First to Cheat

Remember how Rose Gold quickly became the most favorite colour of virtually every single OEM when Apple announced the iPhone 6s and the 6s Plus in the colour? We saw pretty much all the OEMs have their version of Rose Gold, with different names in their product catalogue to the point that sporting a Rose Gold or a Pink phone became the new ‘cool’. This year, Apple rolled back the Space Gray colour and introduced two new black colour on the iPhone 7. Black and Jet Black. Black primarily is the soft matte finish in black colour, while Jet Black is the shiny and glossy black on an Aluminum body.

Even though it is clear as daylight that the Jet Black unit is going to attract a ton of scratches and scuff marks, you can bet that it will be one colour that will turn heads. So, little surprise in the fact that other OEMs have already seen Jet Black is the new Rose Gold and are set to induct the colour in their lineup. The first to do this is Vivo with their X7. Vivo is set to announce the X7 Obsidian Black Special Edition on September 19th in China.

The X7 comes with a 5.2 inch 1080P Super AMOLED panel with Snapdragon 652 running at the heart. There is 4GB of RAM on board along with 64GB of internal memory. There is support for dual SIM on the device as well as quick charging on the 3000 mAh battery. The rear camera is 13MP while the front facing camera is 16MP on the Vivo X7. So far, the Vivo X& was available in China in Gold, Silver, Rose Gold and Gray Sky variant. The new black variant is expected to cost around 2498 Yuan, which is roughly Rs 25,000.
