Jio’s Bluetooth speaker has received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The listing that was first spotted by popular tipster Mukul Sharma has no information on its features and specs. The only information that has surfaced through the listing is that its model number is M101i.
The BIS certification is one good hint that the Jio may soon launch its first Bluetooth speaker. Apart from a few smartphones from Apple, Samsung, Google, and iTel, Jio only sells 4G routers through its website. Hopefully, the company will expand its product portfolio soon by announcing new devices like the Jio Bluetooth speaker.

The upcoming Bluetooth speaker could be one of the many planned IoT products for the country. Last year, the telecom giant had confirmed that it will be kicking off its IoT platform this year. With only few weeks remaining for the year to end, it appears that the IoT platform could be available in the coming year.
More Jio exclusive phones
It was recently reported that the contracts of the existing 20 to 25 million users of Jio 4G feature phone will expire in the next six months. In a bid to retain its existing subscribers and to add new consumers, the telecom giant has reportedly planned to migrate them to 4G smartphones through its all new “Jio exclusive” initiative.
The company is reportedly aiming its 4G smartphones to an estimated 350 million feature phone users of India.
The Jio exclusive smartphone brings benefits such as discounts, shopping benefits, OTT subscriptions, and more. However, the only caveat is that such phones will be locked with Jio connection.
In other words, users will not be able to use SIM cards from other service providers on the Jio exclusive phones. Vivo recently announced the Vivo Y1s entry-level phone. It comes in a regular version as well as Jio SIM locked version that tags along above-mentioned benefits.
