On: July 12, 2017

As per leaks, Jio is finally looking to roll out their Jio Fiber plans that are set to disrupt the home broadband market. Jio has been in the news for several reasons recently, be it the mind-blowing deals they offered and gave competitive service providers a run for their money or the breach into their database, leaking millions of their subscribers’ data. Today, however, some positive news from Jio has surfaced. Accidentally information has been leaked through their webpage that was still in the development phase. This information points out pilot locations where it’ll be launched first and the tentative costing.

Jio Fiber has been churning the rumour mill for a while now and it was expected to be another disruptive move in the home broadband market. Jio has been known to throw freebies around to build their user base, and today’s leak is no different.

Jio Fiber’s web page which is expected to be in the development and testing phase accidentally leaked out some vital information. Jio is looking to offer 100GB of data, at 100Mbps for 3 months absolutely free of cost! Post consumption of the initial 100GB, fair usage policy will apply and download speed will be limited to 1Mbps. It must also be noted that a security deposit of rupees 4500 is to be paid at the time of installation but this amount could change at the time of launch.

Location details on where the pilot launch will take place was also leaked by Reddit user normil, who pointed out in the screenshot that Jio Fiber will be initially launched in top-tier cities. These cities include Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Vishakhapatnam.

As per the website, Jio also seems to have more innovative ideas than what meets the eye. As per the website which has an option that states, “I am interested in enhancing Jio coverage in my building”. This could mean either a customer feedback mechanism to enhance their coverage or developing a router mesh network.

You can access a cached version of their site to get a better idea of what is to come. This is a cached version and could disappear with time. Either way, we at Pricebaba are excited about this developing news and look forward to seeing this in flesh. Do let us know your views in the comments section.
