Reliance Jio has announced that it will offer special benefits to Jio Phone users during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Mukesh Ambani-led company’s latest initiative is to ensure its less privileged customers stay connected during these uncertain times.
Jio has introduced two special offers for Jio Phone users. However, it’s worth noting that the offer is not applicable on annual or JioPhone device bundled plans.
Jio Phone COVID-19 offers
During the entire period of the pandemic, Jio in collaboration with Reliance Foundation will be offering 300 free minutes of outgoing calls per month (10 minutes per day) to Jio Phone users who are not able to recharge their plans. Secondly, Jio is also enhancing affordability by ensuring that users who recharge for a particular plan get the same recharge plan free of cost. This means that a user who recharges with a Rs 75 plan will get an additional Rs 75 plan free of cost.
In other news, Jio said that it gained 4.26 million wireless subscribers compared to Airtel’s 3.73 million according to the data collated by TRAI. The company had lost to Airtel for the last six months consecutively. Jio ended the January – March quarter with 426.2 million subscribers.
