Jio Phone Next launch in India has been delayed. Reliance Jio announced the smartphone through its 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) event in June. At that time, the company revealed its key features and confirmed that it will be releasing in the market on September 10th. Earlier today, Jio sent out an official statement to announce that it has delayed the Jio Phone Next launch.

The JioPhone Next is a collaborative effort by Jio and Google. It is expected to arrive as the most affordable 4G phone, which will run an optimised version of Android. Let’s read on to see when users will be able to purchase the Jio Phone Next.

JioPhone Next release date has been delayed

Through its official statement, the company claimed that Jio and Google have made considerable progress towards launching the Jio Phone Next. Both companies have started testing the smartphone with a limited set of users.

The company now aims to commence the rollout of the Jio Phone Next in time for the Diwali festive season, which indicates that it may be available for purchase by early November. It further said that the additional time will allow it to mitigate the ongoing global semiconductor shortages.

Jio Phone Next specifications, price in India (expected)

The Jio Phone Next is expected to feature a 5.5-inch HD screen, an 8-megapixel front camera, a 13-megapixel rear camera, Snapdragon 215 chip, 2GB / 3GB of RAM, 16GB / 32GB of built-in storage, a 2,500mAh battery, and Android 11 (Go edition). It will offer features like the Google Assistant, automatic read-aloud and on-screen language translation, and a smart camera with India-focused filters. It is also expected to feature customised versions of Google Duo Go and Camera Go with Snapchat integration.

A recent report claimed that the smartphone will be made available in Basic and Advanced versions. These models could be priced at Rs 5,000 and Rs 7,000, respectively.
