The smartphone has been priced at Rs 6,499 but can be purchased with an entry price of Rs 1,999 and the rest of the amount can be paid via easy EMI over a period of 18 or 24 months. Over the last few days, several key details of the much-anticipated smartphone have been revealed. These included two variants of the phone, pricing, Jio partnering with banks for financing options, and complete specifications of the handset. These leaks and rumours left nothing to the imagination and pretty much everything about the JioPhone Next was out in the open. Jio has launched its much ambitious JioPhone Next in partnership with Google without any launch event or streaming. The brand has announced the launch of JioPhone Next through a press release. The smartphone will be available in Jio stores starting Diwali 2021, which is November 4th.

Jio Phone Next: sale date in India
Jio has revealed that the smartphone will be available in stores from Diwali. Interested buyers can pick up the smartphone from November 4th from JioMart Digital stores across the country.

Jio seems to have opted for quality over quantity as the JioPhone Next comes with a single 13-megapixel OmniVision OV13B10 camera on the back. Additionally, for selfies, the phone offers an 8-megapixel GC0834W front camera by GalaxyCore. Additionally, Jio has confirmed that the phone will feature dedicated night mode, HDR, and integrated Snapchat Lenses in the camera module. The Snapchat lenses will offer India-specific AR filters and will have a dedicated button in the camera UI.
The Jio Phone Next comes with Android-based Pragati OS out of the box. According to the brand, Pragati OS is an optimised version of Android tailored to suit the unique needs of Indian smartphone users. Pragati OS comes with access to Google Play Store and support for OTA OS update support. Jio assures that the JioPhone Next will receive new features, customisation, security updates, and more.
Jio Phone Next comes with dual-SIM support with a unique feature. For the first time, Jio Phone Next will support other network SIM cards. However, users can use other network SIM cards only for voice calls and in the secondary SIM slot. The primary SIM slot needs to have a Jio SIM card and more importantly, data can only be used on the Jio network.
Jio Phone Next supports an HD resolution of 720 x 1,440 pixels. The smartphone comes with a 5.45-inch LCD display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top featuring anti-fingerprint coating.
The Jio Phone Next comes with Snapdragon 215 SoC under the hood. For the uninitiated, it’s a 1.3Ghz, quad-core SoC with 28nm die size, 64-bit CPU, and Adreno 308 GPU. The processor has a dual ISP with support for either a single 13-megapixel primary sensor or a pair of 8-megapixel sensors.
RAM and storage configurations
The JioPhone Next comes in a single variant with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. The onboard storage can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.
The JioPhone Next comes with a 3,500mAh battery under the hood. The brand has not specified charging speeds but we can assume it to be standard 10W charging.

The smartphone has a voice assistant, automatic read-aloud of the text on screen, language translation, a smart camera with AR filters, and more. The language translator can be triggered with a single tap of a button to quickly translate any text on the display and read it aloud in a preferred language. Additionally, users will be able to point the camera at any text to translate in real-time. The Read aloud and Translate Now will work with any text on the display as they will be a system feature on JioPhone Next. There will also be a system-wide Google Assistant.
