The main benefit of Jio’s Rs 259 prepaid plan is that the recharge date comes on the same date every month. The plan offers users other benefits such as unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per month. It also offers 1.5GB of data per day. When the allocated daily data limit is exhausted, the data connectivity speed reduces to 64kbps. In addition, users get access to JioTV, JioCinema, JioSecurity, and JioCloud.

The new Rs 259 plan is similar to the existing Rs 239, which offers the same benefits with a fixed validity of 28 days. Users can carry out multiple recharges of the Rs 259 plan at one time. The advanced recharge plans will queue up and activate automatically when the current active plan expires.

The Rs 259 recharge plan is available to both existing and new users via all online and offline channels. Now that Jio has introduced the calendar month validity prepaid plan, rival telecom operators like Airtel and Vi may also announce similar plans in the coming days.
