Jio recently announced that all calls from Jio to non-Jio networks in India will be free from January 1st. Now, Reliance Jio has removed free data vouchers that it offered with talk time plans. Notably, the telco was offering 100GB free data with the Rs 1,000 talk time plan and 1GB data for every Rs 10 spent by users on off-net calls.

Additionally, Jio has also removed voice calling benefits from its 4G data vouchers. The company used to offer up to 1,000 minutes of Jio – non-Jio voice calls. This will stop now that the Mukesh Ambani-led telco is offering free voice calls. Here are all details of the new announcement from the largest telco in India.
Jio removes free data vouchers from top-up plans
As mentioned before, Jio had announced on December 31st that all off-net calls will be free starting January 1st. This came as the result of TRAI ending the interconnect usage charges (IUC) in favour of the ‘Bill and Keep’ regime for domestic calls. The regulatory authority also extended the deadline to lift IUC further, forcing Jio to limit off-net calls with all prepaid plans and charge 6 paise per minute with talk time packs.
The telecom operator compensated by providing complimentary data vouchers of 1GB for every Rs 10 spent on off-net calls. With all calls now free, the telco has now removed these benefits. Jio prepaid plans of Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 50, Rs 100, Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, offered up to 100GB of complimentary data but no longer.
In a similar fashion, Jio has also removed talk time benefits from its 4G data vouchers. Jio’s data top ups of Rs 11, Rs 21, Rs 51 and Rs 101 now ship only with data benefits. Notably, these plans previously offered up to 1,000 minutes of Jio to non-Jio voice calls.
