A two-part finale and the franchise’s tenth movie have been planned since October 2020 and 2014, respectively. In Fast X, Dom Toretto and his family are hunted by Dante Reyes, the drug lord’s enraged son, who seeks revenge for his father’s demise and the loss of his family’s wealth. Vin Diesel essays the central character, Dominic Toretto, in the film. The screenplay credit goes to Dan Mazeau and Justin Lin. It was directed by Louis Leterrier and released theatrically in the United States on May 19, 2023.
Fast X was made on a budget of $340 million and earned $714.6 million at the box office, surpassing its break even. Since June, the movie has been streaming on Amazon Prime Video on a rental basis. Fast X has now arrived on JioCinema on a video-on-demand subscription basis. The eleventh and twelfth movies in the series are also in the works. Reports suggest that a spin-off focusing on Hobbs and Reyes might be made.
Nominated in five categories in the Golden Trailer Awards 2023, Fast X won the Best Action TV Spot (for a Feature Film) for “Ahead” (AV Squad). Distributed by Universal Pictures, Fast X ended up being the fifth-highest-grossing movie of 2023, so far. The release date for the sequel, which is still in development, is April 4, 2025. Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot reprise their characters from the film series. Jason Momoa is seen as Dante Reyes and Michelle Rodriguez essays Letty Ortiz. Dan Mazeau, Justin Lin, and Zach Dean have scripted the story of Fast X.
