Reliance Jio has announced a partnership with the popular Hollywood studio, Lionsgate Studio. As part of the new partnership, JioFiber users will be able to access the Lionsgate Play streaming service from their Jio set-top box. Jio is offering the new service to JioFiber users on the Silver plan and above. Jio has already updated its official website with the details of the new offering and eligible JioFiber users should be able to see the service on their set-top box already.
The new announcement comes close on the heels of the report that Jio might soon offer Netflix to its Jio Fiber users as well. Prior to that, the Mukesh Ambani-led telco introduced an annual Amazon Prime subscription to JioFiber users and a Disney+ Hotstar VIP membership to Jio prepaid users under select plans. Let’s take a look at the Lionsgate Play offer from the telco.
JioFiber users get free Lionsgate Play subscription
As part of the Lionsgate Studio deal, JioFiber users will be able to access the entire premium catalogue of Lionsgate Play streaming service for free. The content can be accessed from the JioTV+ app on their Jio set-top box and there’s no separate app for the Lionsgate Play.
Users will get access to 7,500 distinct premium episodes and feature films, including STARZ Original series, first-run movies and other popular shows. Moreover, JioFiber users will also be able to enjoy the Lionsgate Studio content in six regional languages including Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Bhojpuri.
As you can see in the image above, Jio is offering the Lionsgate Play content with the Silver Plan and above. The Silver plan starts at Rs 849 for a month and Rs 10,188 + GST for the annual plan. The plan goes up to Rs 8,499/month and Rs 1,01,988 +GST annually for the Titanium plan.
