Reliance Jio had launched JioPages as a free web browser just three weeks ago. The app is currently available only on Android. The new live election updates feature is powered by News18 and will go live with the Bihar election results tomorrow. Jio has confirmed that election updates will be available for future elections.

With Jio Platforms’ unprecedented funding rounds this year, Reliance is bolstering its ecosystem of applications. JioPages is one such attempt to offer a rival to Google Chrome, Opera and Microsoft Edge in the mobile web browser market. The app borrows the design elements we come to see with mobile browsers. With new live election results, it is adding features that will appeal to Indian users.
