JioPhone Next India release date will be set just before the Diwali festive season. Launched in June, it is a collaborative effort from Jio and Google to bring an affordable 4G phone to the masses. Ahead of the market release, the company rolled out the “Making of JioPhone Next” video to showcase the company’s idea and vision behind launching the Jio Phone Next.
Today, Jio confirmed that the Jio Phone next will run Pragati OS, which is powered by Android. It will come with some differentiated features like a Snapdragon chip, voice assistant, read aloud, translate now, smart camera, Jio and Google apps, and enhanced battery life.
Jio Phone Next key specifications revealed
As per a press release shared by Jio, Pragati OS is an operating system developed by Jio and Google that is specifically designed for users in India. It comes with features like Translate, which allows users to speak in any language and translate it in another language. It also allows users to have any screen translated into the desired language.
With the Read Aloud function, the phone will allow users to read aloud the content from any app open the screen in a language which they can understand. The voice assistant will not only offer users a hands-free operating experience but also get information from the internet easily in a familiar language.
The Jio Phone Next is fitted with an LED assisted 13-megapixel camera on the back. It will come with multiple photography modes like portrait mode, night mode, and custom augmented reality filters for India.
The Jio Phone Next will be powered by a Snapdragon chip and it will receive automatic software and security updates. In addition, it will be packed with all the important apps from Jio and Google.
JioPhone Next specifications and price in India (expected)
Reports have revealed that the JioPhone Next will come with a 5.5-inch HD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 215 mobile platform, 2GB / 3GB of RAM, 16GB / 32GB of native storage, Android 11 OS, and a 2,500mAh battery. It is likely to arrive in Basic and Advanced versions, and these models are likely to cost Rs 5,000 and Rs 7,000, respectively.
The sales of the phone are expected to begin by early November in the country. It will be available in black and blue colours.
