Just Corseca is known for its value-for-money mobile accessory and lifestyle gadgets. Earlier this month, the company announced its smart sunglasses ‘Skyraptor’. It has built-in open-ear speakers that wirelessly sync to smartphones to deliver music to your ears while protecting your eyes from the sun’s harsh rays.
The smart sunglasses cost Rs 2,499 and are available on the company’s official website, Amazon, Flipkart, and other leading online and offline stores across India. But should you spend your hard-earned money on these smart sunglasses? Let’s find out!
Just Corseca ‘Skyraptor’ Design and Build Quality
The Skyraptor looks like regular sunglasses and will not make you feel out of place. A slightly thick frame will grab some attention from the public, but for all the right reasons, as whenever you tell people that it’s a smart sunglasses with built-in speakers, they will immediately get interested in the device.
Regarding build quality, the Skyraptor feels reasonably solid, and the plastic quality doesn’t feel cheap. However, the hinge feels a bit weak at times, but nothing to complain about especially considering the price.
Moreover, the frame is weather and sweat-resistant, which makes it an ideal partner for riding or outdoor activities.
Just Corseca ‘Skyraptor’ Speakers and Connectivity
The Skyraptor includes ingeniously hidden open-ear speakers incorporated into the frame that enables directional sound to silently transmit the music straight to your ears using the latest Bluetooth chip (V5.0). The open-ear design allows you to be aware of your surroundings while listening to your favourite music.
In terms of connectivity, I didn’t face any hiccups, and the process was relatively smooth. The speakers on the device are excellent and deliver superb audio quality. I was surprised by the audio quality when I listened to the music for the first time on the Skyraptor.
Although it’s not perfect and feels irritating if you raise the volume to maximum, we must remember that it’s not meant for the ultimate music-listening experience. Also, remember that it comes with open-ear speakers, and the music will be audible to people sitting next to you.
Moreover, the Skyraptor also features a pair of omnidirectional microphones on each handle. It is beautifully hidden in the frame and is only visible if you turn the glasses upside down. The mics do the job, as I could have conversations even in moderate traffic.
Just Corseca ‘Skyraptor’ as simple sunglasses and battery life
The Skyraptor does more than just play background music. They have UV400 lenses that shield you from harsh sunlight (99% UVA/UVB protection) while also soothing your eyes and reducing harmful blue light by 35%. If you put all these numbers aside, the Skyraptor does the job as simple sunglasses.
In terms of battery life, it packs in a 120mAh battery and claims to deliver up to 5 hours of playtime on a single charge. However, in my usage, I could not drain out the battery as I was wearing it whenever I was out on my scooter, which I think will be the case for most users. So basically, in terms of battery life, there’s nothing to worry about.
Conclusion: Should you buy the Just Corseca’ Skyraptor’?
At its asking price of Rs 2,499, the Skyraptor is a value-for-money smart sunglasses. It comes with great speakers, mics, and a universal frame that will suit almost everyone’s face.
