Kult, a brand which is responsible for manufacturing and distributing BlackBerry products in India has now launched its own smartphone – Kult Beyond. With a price tag of Rs 6,999, the company is trying to tap the market segment which is already massed by numerous brands. Arguably, it is the most competitive segment of Indian smartphone market. The Kul Beyond is available for purchase on Amazon starting 18th August.
Specs-wise, the Kult Beyond puts on a 5.2-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Underneath it, the phone draws its power from a 1.25GHz quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. On the storage front, the handset comes with 32GB onboard memory further expandable via MicroSD card. It runs the latest Android Nougat operating system and packs in a 3000mAh battery.
Optics include a 13-megapixel camera on both the front and the back side of the phone. It came as a surprise for us to see a budget smartphone sporting 13MP selfie camera. The phone also houses a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner which also acts a button to scroll pages, control music and for navigations. Kult Beyond is a Dual SIM smartphone and also extends its support for 4G VolTE connectivity.
Kult is the second smartphone brand to debut in India in the last couple of weeks. Just a few days ago, a Hong Kong based brand Infinix entered the Indian smartphone market. It launched two new smartphones dubbed as Infinix Hot 4 Pro and Note 4 at its maiden event in India. The phones carry a price tag of Rs 7,499 and Rs 8,999 respecitively.
