The locl handset maker, LAVA is known for launching pocket-friendly smartphones for the youth and budget buyers in India. The last launch from the brand was the A5 Republic Day limited edition feature phone, which was priced at Rs 1,449. Now, the company has gone ahead and launched an entry-level smartphone called the Z71 in India, which flaunts dual cameras, a dot notch display and dedicated Google Assistant key as its highlights. The LAVA Z71’s window to the world is the large 5.7-inch Dot Notch display offering HD+ screen resolution and an aspect ratio of 19:9. At its core, the smartphone features a 16nm MediaTek Helio 22 processor backed by 2-gigs of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The internal storage can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. Out of the box, the Z71 boots Android 9 Pie and is powered by a 3,200mAh battery. For security, there is a conventional rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock as well.
LAVA has equipped the Z71 with a dual-camera module on the back with a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The camera is accompanied by a single LED flash for low-light imaging. For selfies and video calling, there’s a 5-megapixel shooter with soft flash on the front. LAVA has also equipped the camera app with features like professional mode and AI studio mode, which offers six levels of portrait mode.

LAVA is offering the Z71 in two colour variants – Steel Blue and Ruby Red, with a glossy mirror finish on the back panel. Those willing to purchase the smartphone can do so by paying Rs 6,299 on Flipkart. To sweeten the deal for buyers, the brand has partnered with Reliance Jio for an attractive launch offer. Z71 buyers will be eligible for a Rs 1,200 instant cashback and an additional 50GB of 4G data. The cashback will be in the form of 24 cashback vouchers of Rs 50 each in the MyJio App when recharged with Rs 198 and Rs 299 plans. The 50GB additional data will be credited through an additional voucher of 5GB data on every recharge done till 10 recharges.
