Lenovo announces Android Nougat software rollout for Moto X Pure Edition

Lenovo has begun rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat over-the-air update to the Moto X Pure Edition in the US. To recall, the Moto X Pure Edition (also known as Moto X Style outside the US) was first announced in July 2015.

The software update brings all the bells and whistles of Google’s most recent Android iteration. Some of these features include split-screen multitasking, customisable quick settings, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications, and recent applications window.

Furthermore, the Moto X Pure Edition now receives ‘Double Tap’ feature that makes it easy to switch between the most recent apps. It also brings ‘Doze on the go’ feature for better battery optimisation, thanks to Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

You can also manually check if your device has received an update. All you need to do is go to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.

We are yet to confirm if Lenovo will roll out Android Nougat over-the-air to Moto X Style units purchased in India. Specs-wise, it has a 5.7-inch Quad HD screen, Qualcomm 808 hexacore processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of storage, 21MP rear camera, 5MP selfie camera, and 3000mAh battery.

The Moto X Style costs Rs 26,999 for 16GB model and Rs 28,999 for 32GB model.
