It’s no secret anymore that the Lenovo’s gaming division, Legion is readying a gaming smartphone that is expected to be launched this year. The leading chipset manufacturer, Qualcomm recently confirmed the existence of the device when it released a list of upcoming Snapdragon 865-powered phones. And recently, Pricebaba spotted the Lenovo Legion smartphone on China’s patent website CNIPA, which revealed high-resolution coloured renders of the handset. Now, the brand has gone ahead and confirmed that the gaming device will come with the fastest charging technology in the world with 90W output. Notably, the OPPO SuperVOOC 2.0 with 65W fast charging is currently the fastest charging tech around.
Lenovo Legion gaming phone to feature 90W fast charging
We already know that Legion Phone has a dedicated Weibo page in China and that’s where the brand chose to reveal the charging technology detail. As mentioned before, OPPO’s 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 is the fastest charging solution right now and it can charge a 4,000mAh battery in just under 40 minutes. Taking this into perspective, it’s safe to assume that the 90W fast charging tech on Legion Gaming Phone will be able to charge a 4,000mAH battery from zero to 100 perecent in less than 30 minutes. This sounds incredibly fast but we will have to wait for the smartphone to be launched to see if the brand has managed to achieve this bump in speed optimally without the device heating up.
Lenovo Legion specifications and features
As for the specifications, the CNIPA listing confirmed red and metallic grey colours with transparent back panels. There were several inscriptions indicating the presence of a physical fan, 5,050mAh battery and processor. Other details revealed by renders included triple cameras, touch-sensitive shoulder buttons for gaming, a power button, volume rockers, a OnePlus-like alert slider or mute switch and a secondary Type-C port on the side. The smartphone will also have two extra speaker grilles on top apart from the regular one at the bottom. Rumours suggest that the smartphone will feature LPDDR5 RAM, the latest UFS storage, and up to a 144Hz refresh rate.
Unfortunately, nothing else is known about the upcoming gaming smartphone at this point. However, since Legion is already teasing features, we can expect the launch to be just around the corner.
